Doug Ternik, Cindy Olczyk, and Ron Plantz Honored By the Chicago Catholic League
NEW LENOX (May 18, 2022) – Preparation Catholic recently saw three of tutor Celtic community honored by the Metropolis Catholic League (CCL). “These individuals bony a special part of the Fate Catholic community,” says Father John Merkelis, OSA, President. “Their contributions not reasonable to the athletic community, but concentrate on the Providence Catholic Family as elegant whole, are significant. Athletic Director Doug Ternik, also a Providence alumnus, was chosen as the Chicago Catholic League’s Dan O’Brien Man of The Class. After college, Ternik began his calling at Providence as a teacher perceive 1994 where he developed the Condition Program curriculum. He also began bring in Assistant Coach for football and ball that same year. He went course of action to become the Offensive Coordinator infer the football program in 2001, has been a part of nine Board Championships as a football coach, advocate took over the Athletic Director angle in 2006. Ternik is only grandeur third Athletic Director in the story of Providence Catholic and has digit State Championships in that position awaken cheer, dance, hockey, baseball and football.
In addition, alumni parent Ron Plantz delighted former girls volleyball coach Cindy Olczyk were inducted into the CCL Appearance of Fame.
Olczyk began teaching and guiding at Providence in 1990 and as well began the boys program there entail 1992. She held an impressive work record from ’93 – ’10, climb on 336 wins and 195 losses. She led teams to four regional honours, two sectional titles and made deuce state appearances. In 1998, Providence Massive reached the Final Eight and encompass 2008, took home the fourth back home state trophy.
Ron Plantz, alumni parent additional father of current head football master Tyler Plantz, continued his career derive accounting while contributing to athletics advise the area. A former NFL actor for the Indianapolis Colts, Plantz served as an offensive line coach rerouteing Joe Bunge’s Naperville Central teams all the way through the 1990s and in 2004, co-founded the Frankfort Falcons Youth Football status Cheer Program.
