Thanhhà Lại (pronounced "Than-ha") is a Vietnam-born essayist who lives in upstate New York.

After fleeing Vietnam toward the end appreciated the war in 1975, Lai good turn her family settled in Alabama. Lại worked as a journalist in Calif. before undertaking a Master of Fragile Arts degree at New York University.

Her novels include Inside Out & Obstacle Again, Listen, Slowly, and Butterfly Yellow.
